Beyond the Basics
LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

There is a saying that one must crawl before one can walk. In general, this is true; and we do not intend to propose anything different here. In the first stage of life, we are crawling through the acquisition and reproduction of the essentials. As life matures, however, we will be able to stand up, and move a little more freely, in the kingdom of man. It is at this time that we may discover that we are in our most vulnerable stage of life.
In the prior stage of obtaining the essentials, there are a many sources for the tools to build the essentials. Some of the sources--such as, government programs--will provide the essentials. However, when we go beyond the basics, then we are in the area of intense competition for recognition and advancement. This is the time when we must carry the burden, and not depend on others to carry us, as their burden.
Most people probably do not think of financial well-being as being a child; that is, those who are still striving to achieve it. When we are striving to acquire financial well-being, we may behave similarly to a little girl who loves playing with her dolls, and who has, within her self, a consistent yearning to have a living doll of her own. In time, the little girl matures into a woman, going on to be a wife, and then an expectant mother. When she reaches that point, the living doll that the little girl wanted is, then, in production in the factory of the womb.
However, once the development starts up in the womb of the woman, some dynamics come into play. For instance, the woman must manage the discomfort, and maybe even pain, of development that leads up to the birth of the child.
Once the child is born, there is a period of restful enjoyment, if there is a support system for the mother. This is almost a necessity for a new mother--especially, in the early part of the life of the child--if the mother is to ever have a period of restful enjoyment. Maybe she will have the benefit of rest, while others maintain the child--either in the hospital, or with the intervention of relatives. Eventually, though, the full weight of responsibility will shift, for a time, solely to the mother.
I say, for a time, because it is my prayer that the departure from, or by, the other others who have aided the new mother, will be accompanied by some strong support from the father of the child, or someone to fill in, in that capacity, if, for instance, the father is not alive. A part of that support also includes this: supplying the mother's needs. The father (or a representative male) can also provide support by going out for late night runs for medicine or soothing foods, and refreshing oils.
Now, the family is moving beyond the basics. At this time, the family must develop proper procedures to supervise the growth of assets. Yes, a child is an asset that is beyond the basics; never allow this asset to be a wasting one, or a consumable. In other words, give serious attention to nursing the child, and do not ever use the child for personal gain. There are some examples of what not to do, among the child stars who have been consumed by their parent‘s greed for such things as, money and fame. Do not fall into those practices, ever.

Now, do not limit your focus to a biological family, saying to your self that you never intend to have children. As we said, financial well-being is, too, a child. Financial well-being has a mother, too. The mother is that which provides the resources that spur the production of financial security. Financial security has a father, too. The father is the one who provides the conditions under which financial security is able to grow. (One of these provisions may be as simple as setting up an interest bearing bank account.) We must also apply the techniques of good child-rearing and family development, to the family of our financial status in life.

In this time of going beyond the basics, we need to have some level of personal knowledge of what the various managers of our assets are proposing.
